Used 38 dollars worth of ingredients. Made 8 pans of lasagna. Seven for the freezer one for dinner.
Total cost about $4.75 per pan each will feed 2 or 3 people. Yeah me!
Meat sauce
5 lbs ground beef browned
48 oz jarred marinara sauce
1 qt stewed tomatoes
3 Tbsp Italian seasoning
1/4 Cup chopped garlic
3 chopped onions
1 chopped green pepper
Place in large pot and simmer on low at least 4 hours.
Ricotta Cheese Sauce
32 oz ricotta cheese
16 oz jar alfredo sauce
5 large eggs
2 Tbsp Italian seasoning
2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp black pepper
Mix in mixer adding eggs one at a time and mix until very smooth.
3 lbs shredded mozzarella cheese and 1 lb parmesan cheese mixed together
2 boxes lasagna noodles cooked half of required time.
Assemble by putting small amount of meat in bottom of pans. Layer noodles, meat sauce, ricotta sauce, shredded cheese mixture. Repeat until you have 3 layers.
Bake fresh made in 350 degree oven covered 20 minutes. Frozen needs 55 minutes in 325 degrees.
Let stand for 15 minutes before serving.
