Arbyrecipe

Found this on another page and it is now a family favorite. Much cheaper alternative for my family than going to Arby’s. Wrap roast beef in a foil packet, place in the oven (just long enough to warm it up) 250° 8ish minutes usually works. Warm cheese up in saucepan, assemble on a toasted bun, and serve with Curly Fries. So good!

Homemade Oven-Warmed Roast Beef Sandwiches with Melted Cheese and Curly Fries

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound thinly sliced roast beef
  • 4 slices of your favorite cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or provolone work well)
  • 4 hamburger buns, toasted
  • 1 cup curly fries (store-bought or homemade)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).

2. Prepare the Roast Beef:

  • Lay out four sheets of aluminum foil, each large enough to wrap a portion of roast beef.
  • Divide the roast beef evenly among the foil sheets.

3. Warm the Roast Beef:

  • Seal each portion of roast beef in its foil packet.
  • Place the foil packets in the preheated oven for about 8 minutes, or until the roast beef is warmed through.

4. Melt the Cheese:

  • While the roast beef is warming, heat the cheese in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
  • Stir the cheese until it’s fully melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

5. Prepare the Curly Fries:

  • While the roast beef is finishing in the oven, prepare the curly fries according to the package instructions or your preferred method. If making them from scratch, ensure they are crispy.

6. Assemble the Sandwiches:

  • Once the roast beef is warmed, remove the foil packets from the oven.
  • Open each packet and place the warm roast beef onto the bottom half of each toasted bun.

7. Add Melted Cheese:

  • Spoon the melted cheese over the warm roast beef.

8. Complete the Sandwiches:

  • Place the top half of each toasted bun on top of the melted cheese and roast beef, creating a sandwich.

9. Serve with Curly Fries:

  • Serve the sandwiches on a plate alongside a generous portion of curly fries.

10. Enjoy:

  • Dig into your delicious homemade roast beef sandwiches with melted cheese and crispy curly fries! Perfect for a family dinner or a quick and satisfying lunch.

Feel free to customize the recipe by adding your favorite condiments or toppings to enhance the flavors.

  1. Choose Quality Roast Beef:
    • Opt for high-quality, thinly sliced roast beef from your local deli or butcher. The better the roast beef, the more flavorful your sandwich will be.
  2. Select the Right Cheese:
    • Experiment with different cheeses to find the one that complements the roast beef best. Cheddar, Swiss, and provolone are popular choices, but feel free to get creative.
  3. Toast Buns to Perfection:
    • Toast the hamburger buns just before assembling the sandwiches to add a delightful crunch and prevent them from getting soggy too quickly.
  4. Foil Packets for Even Heating:
    • Use foil packets for warming the roast beef in the oven. This helps retain moisture and ensures even heating, keeping the meat juicy.
  5. Control Cheese Melting:
    • Melt the cheese slowly over medium-low heat in a saucepan, stirring continuously. This prevents the cheese from becoming too thick or separating.
  6. Season with Care:
    • Season the melted cheese with a pinch of salt and pepper to enhance its flavor. Adjust the seasoning according to your taste preferences.
  7. Curly Fries for Crunch:
    • Whether store-bought or homemade, ensure the curly fries are cooked to a crispy perfection. This adds a satisfying crunch to the meal.
  8. Customize with Condiments:
    • Add your favorite condiments like horseradish, mustard, or mayonnaise to the sandwich for an extra layer of flavor. Consider pickles, lettuce, or tomatoes for added freshness.
  9. Serve Immediately:
    • Enjoy the sandwiches promptly after assembly to savor the warm, gooey cheese and maintain the crispiness of the curly fries.
  10. Pair with a Side:
    • Consider serving the sandwiches with a side salad, coleslaw, or a light soup to balance the richness of the roast beef and cheese.
  11. Experiment with Extras:
    • Feel free to experiment with additional toppings like caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, or roasted bell peppers to elevate the flavor profile of your sandwich.
  12. Family Involvement:
    • Turn the preparation into a family activity. Let everyone customize their sandwiches with their preferred toppings for a fun and interactive meal.

Remember, the key to a great homemade meal is personalization, so feel free to adjust the recipe according to your taste preferences and dietary restrictions
