Crispy Tortilla Hot Dogs
Ingredients:
- 4 hot dogs
- 4 flour tortillas
- Oil for frying
- Optional toppings: ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, shredded cheese, chopped onions, jalapeños, etc.
Instructions:
- Prepare the Hot Dogs: Cook the hot dogs according to your preference. You can grill them, pan-fry them, or boil them.
- Wrap the Hot Dogs: Place each cooked hot dog in the center of a flour tortilla.
- Roll Up the Hot Dogs: Roll the tortilla tightly around the hot dog, ensuring that it is completely covered. Secure the ends with toothpicks if needed to prevent them from unraveling during frying.
- Heat the Oil: In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat enough oil to submerge the hot dog wraps. Heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches around 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the Hot Dog Wraps: Carefully place the wrapped hot dogs into the hot oil, seam side down. Fry them for 2-3 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy all over.
- Remove and Drain: Once the hot dog wraps are crispy and golden, use tongs to carefully remove them from the hot oil. Place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
- Serve: Remove the toothpicks if used and serve the crispy tortilla hot dogs immediately. You can serve them as they are or with your favorite toppings such as ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, shredded cheese, chopped onions, jalapeños, or any other toppings of your choice.
