Ingredients:
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1 block cream cheese, softened
- Imitation crab meat (desired amount), finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2-3 tablespoons white sugar
- Dumpling wrappers
- Water (for sealing the wrappers)
- Sweet chili sauce (for dipping)
Instructions:
- Heat Vegetable Oil:
- In a pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Make sure there’s enough oil to deep fry the crab rangoons.
- Prepare Filling:
- In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, finely chopped imitation crab meat, salt, and white sugar. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Wrap the Crab Rangoons:
- Take a dumpling wrapper and dip your finger into a bowl of water. Wet the edges of the wrapper.
- Place a dollop of the crab and cream cheese mixture in the center of the wrapper.
- Fold the wrapper in half to create a triangle, pressing the edges to seal. Make sure there is no air trapped inside.
- Deep Fry:
- Carefully place the sealed crab rangoons into the preheated oil.
- Fry for 2-3 minutes per side or until they turn golden brown. Keep a close eye on them as they can cook quickly.
- Drain Excess Oil:
- Once the crab rangoons are golden brown, remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
- Serve with Sweet Chili Sauce:
- In a small bowl, pour sweet chili sauce for dipping.
- Arrange the freshly fried crab rangoons on a serving plate and serve them hot with the sweet chili sauce on the side.
