Homemade Stromboli
Ingredients:
- 1 can pizza dough, unrolled
- 3 tablespoons garlic butter
- 4 slices pepper jack cheese
- 1/2 cup pepperoni slices
- 1/2 cup salami slices
- 1/2 cup ham slices
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the Dough: Lay out the pizza dough on a clean, floured surface. Spread the garlic butter evenly over the entire surface of the dough.
- Layer the Fillings: Arrange the pepper jack cheese slices, pepperoni, salami, ham, and shredded mozzarella cheese over the dough. Make sure to distribute them evenly, leaving about 1 1/2 inches of space around the edges.
- Season the Stromboli: Sprinkle the garlic powder and Italian seasoning over the layers of cheese and meats, adding a burst of flavor to your Stromboli.
- Roll the Stromboli: Starting from the long edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log, enclosing the fillings. Pinch the seams and ends to seal the Stromboli.
- Prepare for Baking: Place the rolled Stromboli seam side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Brush with Egg Wash: Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush the top of the Stromboli with the egg wash. This will give it a beautiful golden brown crust when baked.
- Bake: Using a sharp knife, make a few slits on the top of the Stromboli to allow steam to escape during baking. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the Stromboli is golden brown and crispy.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the Stromboli from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice into thick portions and serve warm.
- Enjoy: Your homemade Stromboli is ready to be enjoyed! Serve it with marinara sauce, if desired, for dipping.
