Monster cookie bars recipe Butter
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup no-stir peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups old-fashioned oats
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup M&M’s, plus extra for decoration (optional)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with foil and spray it with nonstick cooking spray.
In a large bowl, use a hand mixer or a stand mixer to beat the softened butter and peanut butter until smooth and well combined.
Add both sugars to the butter and peanut butter mixture and beat until creamy.
Mix in the eggs, vanilla extract, baking soda, and salt until the mixture is smooth.
Slowly add the all-purpose flour while mixing, and continue to mix until the ingredients are well incorporated.
Stir in the oats, chocolate chips, and M&M’s until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Press the cookie dough evenly into the prepared baking pan. If desired, sprinkle additional M&M’s on top for decoration.
Bake in the preheated oven for 22 to 25 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown.
Remove from the oven and allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares
