Triple Envelope Pot Roast Delight

Ingredients:

  • 3-pound pot roast
  • 1 envelope dry ranch dressing
  • 1 envelope dry Italian dressing
  • 1 envelope brown gravy
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bag baby carrots
  • 1 bag baby Yukon gold potatoes, halved
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Roast:
    • Pat the pot roast dry with paper towels.
    • In a small bowl, combine the dry ranch dressing, dry Italian dressing, and brown gravy envelopes.
    • Rub the combined seasoning mixture evenly over the pot roast, ensuring it is well-coated on all sides.
  2. Create the Cooking Base:
    • In a separate bowl, mix the combined seasoning with 1 cup of water until it forms a smooth liquid.
  3. Layer the Vegetables:
    • Place the sliced onion on the bottom of the slow cooker.
    • Add the baby carrots and halved baby Yukon gold potatoes on top of the onions.
  4. Place the Pot Roast:
    • Carefully place the seasoned pot roast on top of the vegetables in the slow cooker.
  5. Add Cooking Liquid:
    • Pour the seasoning and water mixture over the pot roast and vegetables, ensuring an even distribution.
  6. Season and Set the Slow Cooker:
    • Season the vegetables and pot roast with salt and pepper to taste.
    • Set the slow cooker on high and cook for 5 hours to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Reduce Heat:
    • After 5 hours, reduce the heat to low and continue cooking for an additional hour. This will help the pot roast become tender and juicy.
  8. Check for Doneness:
    • Test the pot roast for doneness by using a fork to see if it easily shreds. If not, continue cooking for an additional 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  9. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Once the pot roast is tender and fully cooked, carefully remove it from the slow cooker.
    • Slice the pot roast against the grain and serve it with the deliciously seasoned vegetables.
  10. Optional: Gravy
    • If desired, use the cooking liquid as a base for a flavorful gravy. Simply transfer the liquid to a saucepan, bring it to a simmer, and thicken with a cornstarch slurry.

This Triple Envelope Pot Roast Delight is sure to be a hit at the dinner table, with a perfect balance of savory flavors and tender textures. Enjoy your delicious and easy-to-make dinner!
