cheesy hash brown casserole
-ground Turkey, we don’t like much meat so I used about 1/2lb *cook first
-1 bag frozen shredded hashbrowns
-1 packet taco seasoning
-1 can cheddar cheese soup
-sprinkled shredded cheese into & added to top
*bake 400 for 30ish minutes
Ingredients:
- 1/2 lb ground turkey, cooked and drained
- 1 bag (about 20 oz) frozen shredded hash browns
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 can (10.75 oz) cheddar cheese soup
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Cooking spray
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- Prepare the Hash Browns: In a large bowl, combine the frozen shredded hash browns, cooked and drained ground turkey, and taco seasoning. Mix well to evenly distribute the seasoning.
- Add the Cheese Soup: Pour the cheddar cheese soup over the hash brown and turkey mixture. Add sour cream and mix everything together until well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Layer with Cheese: Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese into the mixture and stir to incorporate. Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- Top with Cheese: Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole, creating an even layer of cheese.
- Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and bubbly, and the cheese on top is melted and golden brown.
- Garnish (Optional): Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired.
