- Wax (paraffin or beeswax) – 1/2 cup
- Candle wick or cotton string – 1 piece (about 8 inches long)
- Heat-safe bowl or container
- Double boiler or microwave-safe bowl for melting wax
Instructions:
- Prepare the Wick:
- Cut the candle wick or cotton string to a length of about 8 inches.
- Place the wick in the center of the heat-safe bowl, ensuring it’s tall enough to extend above the melted wax.
- Combine Coffee and Wax:
- In a double boiler or microwave-safe bowl, melt the wax until it becomes a liquid.
- Stir in the ground coffee, ensuring it’s evenly mixed with the melted wax.
- Create the Campfire Stick:
- Pour the coffee-wax mixture into the heat-safe bowl, covering the wick.
- Allow the mixture to cool and solidify, forming a coffee-infused campfire stick.
- Trim and Light the Wick:
- Once the mixture has hardened, trim the wick, leaving about half an inch above the surface.
- Light the wick, and let the coffee-infused stick start producing smoke.
- Use as Mosquito Repellent:
- Place the coffee campfire stick in a secure spot at your campsite.
- Allow the steady stream of coffee-scented smoke to repel mosquitoes in the surrounding area.
- Enjoy Bug-Free Camping:
- Sit back, relax, and enjoy your bug-free camping experience without the need for sticky sprays or harsh chemicals.
Note: Ensure proper ventilation and follow fire safety precautions while using the coffee campfire stick. Use in outdoor settings only, and never leave the burning stick unattended. The coffee-scented smoke should help keep mosquitoes at bay, providing a natural and aromatic solution for your camping adventures
