Pasta is a family favorite in my house, so I love trying different ways to make it. Tonight was a 3 cheese tortellini bake!
• 12 oz bag Barilla 3 cheese tortellini
• 1 pound ground beef
• 1 pound Italian sausage
• 1- 24 oz jar Traditional Prego Sauce
• 1/2 small white onion diced
• 4 garlic cloves minced
• 2 tablespoon salt/pepper
• 2 tablespoons garlic powder
• 1 tablespoon onion powder
• 2 tablespoon Italian seasoning
• 8 oz block of cream cheese
• 8 oz ricotta cheese
• Handful parmesan
• Handful shredded cheese
Start by browning the ground beef and Italian sausage together. Bring pot of water to a boil, add in the pasta and cook to al dente(about 10 minutes) Drain pasta and put aside. Once the meat is almost all the way cooked add 1 tablespoon each of salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning. Add in the diced onion and minced garlic. Let simmer for a few minutes, then add the full jar of prego sauce. Simmer for about 5 minutes. While that is simmering make cheese mixture. In a bowl add 8 oz block of softened cream cheese, 8 oz ricotta, and 1 tablespoon each of salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Mix well. Place pasta back into the pot and add the entire meat sauce to it and mix well. Spread it all onto a baking pan and add in the cheese mixture, then mix well. Top with a thin layer of parmesan and shredded cheese of your choice. I used a blend of cheddar and mozzarella. Cover with foil, and bake @ 375 for 20-25 minutes. Enjoy
