What my mom calls sloppy joe horse shoes.
Garlic bread
Sloppy joe mix
Tater tots
Topped with cheese sauce
Edit: A lot of people have asked for how we do this. I’m not quite sure how mom does it but I cook the sloppy joes like i normally would. And bake the tater tots and garlic bread in the oven however each says to do it and then put the sloppy joes on top of the garlic bread add the tatet tots then top with cheese

Cheesy Sloppy Joe Horse Shoe Delight


  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 loaf of garlic bread
  • 1 bag of tater tots
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese


  1. Preheat the oven to the temperatures specified on the garlic bread and tater tots packages.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are softened.
  4. Stir in ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper. Simmer the mixture for about 10 minutes until it thickens.
  5. While the sloppy joe mixture is simmering, bake the garlic bread and tater tots in the oven according to their package instructions.
  6. Once the garlic bread and tater tots are done, assemble the Sloppy Joe Horse Shoe Delight. Place slices of garlic bread on a serving platter.
  7. Spoon the sloppy joe mixture generously over the garlic bread slices.
  8. Arrange the baked tater tots on top of the sloppy joe mixture.
  9. Drizzle the entire creation with a generous amount of cheese sauce.
  10. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
  11. Place the assembled dish back in the oven for a few minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  12. Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, and then serve this delicious Cheesy Sloppy Joe Horse Shoe Delight to your eager guests.
